A small hotel, adjacent to the church and popular for wedding receptions. Dating back to the 14th century it has a fascinating history being associated with the infamous Hawkhurst gang of smugglers. The bar is open to non-residents and is comfortable with an inglenook fireplace. Beams and ancient timber fittings abound. A separate restaurant to the right is on two levels as the adjacent building lower down the hill was taken over some years ago.
