Reputedly the third-oldest building in the town, it dates from around 1430 and has massive timber beams, sloping floors with curious nooks and crannies on two storeys. It was originally a farmhouse within the estate of the Archbishop’s palace. There is a heated and covered courtyard area. The bar contains four hand pumps dispensing ales mainly from Kent microbreweries. Draught cider is stocked, and it sells many bottled beers, including several foreign ones. Two small meeting rooms are available.
